OVERVIEW
M.P Shah Hospital is looking to recruit professional and evidence-driven persons for vacancies in the Medical Division as medical officer interns.
Reporting to the Internship Coordinator in the Medical Services Division, the jobholder will rotate in inpatient units and outpatient units under internal medicine, general surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, community health, pediatrics, and psychiatry by best practice standards.
The opportunity will enable the incumbent to consolidate knowledge, skills, and attitudes under supervision to fulfill the registration requirements and become competent practitioners.

- You will work directly under senior registrars and experienced consultants. This provides an excellent foundation to consolidate clinical knowledge and fulfill KMPDC logbook requirements.
- Hands-on experience in clerking patients, executing management plans, and participating in preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative care to master technical surgical procedures.
- Interns are encouraged to participate in journal clubs and Clinical Medical Education (CME) presentations, enhancing self-directed learning and early research skills.
- You will practice in a JCI-accredited facility, giving you exposure to world-class safety and operational guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Admissions processes: Will be the first point of contact with patients to ensure clerking and accurate and efficient diagnosis and management are initiated for all patients under the supervision of medical officers, senior registrars, or consultants.
- Monitoring and Care for Patients: Will be participating in daily ward rounds whilst documenting and executing management plans as well as appraising consultants on patient progress.
- Surgical Skills Acquisition: Will acquire surgical and obstetric procedures in line with the KMPDC logbook/guidelines with a view to understanding and participating in preoperative, intraoperative, and post-operative care.
- Quality Initiatives: Will implement the clinical procedures required for patient care as per the JCI, Kaizen, and other quality guidelines.
- Participation in Continuous Professional Development activities: Will attend and present in CMEs or journal club presentations to enhance self-directed learning and to acquire basic research principles
Requirements
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Medicine and Surgery from an accredited medical institution.
- Must hold a valid practicing internship license from KMPDC.
- A good understanding of safety guidelines is mandatory.
- Computer Knowledge is essential.
