ABOUT
The Public Health Emergency Preparedness Fellowship (PHEPRR Fellowship) has opened applications for its second cohort, offering a four-month training opportunity for mid-career public health professionals across West Africa. Developed by Georgetown University, ICAP at Columbia University, and the U.S. CDC, the program aims to strengthen regional capacity to prepare for, respond to, and recover from public health emergencies. Fellows participate in intensive training, mentorship, applied learning, and professional exchange to enhance their ability to support resilient institutions and communities. A central component is a capstone project through which each participant designs and implements an initiative to improve emergency preparedness, response systems, or workforce capacity within their home organization.
The fellowship equips individuals with important abilities equivalent to:
- Emergency response planning
- Risk evaluation
- Continuity of operations
- Workforce readiness
- Systems strengthening
- Multi-sectoral collaboration
Eligible candidates embody professionals working in:
- National Public Health Institutes (NPHIs)
- Ministries of Health
- Ministry of Agriculture
- Military well being and associated sectors
- One Health applications
- Disease-specific applications equivalent to: Measles, Polio, HIV, Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs)
- Surveillance models
- Laboratory companies
- Health communications departments
- Clinical and hospital companies
Application Requirements for the Public Health Emergency Preparedness Fellowship
- Required paperwork embody:
- Updated CV/Resumé (most of three pages)
- Professional headshot/passport photograph – clear and excessive decision
- 3-minute video application introducing your self, your motivation, and the way you propose to contribute to emergency preparedness in your nation or area
- Applicant Approval Form signed by related authorities (supervisor, nominating establishment, and many others.)
- Copy of worldwide passport bio-data web page
- Copy of your most up-to-date or highest tutorial certificates
