ABOUT

The Pauline Bakibinga Memorial Scholarship offers USD 5,000–10,000 annually (through 2028) to support female master’s students in East Africa pursuing programs at African universities. The funding, which covers research costs (not tuition), focuses on projects in digital health applications. Its goal is to empower women in public health research, foster innovation in digital health, and strengthen African health systems. While there are no work or repayment obligations, recipients are encouraged to mentor future researchers and carry forward Dr. Bakibinga’s legacy.

Eligibility 

  1. Hold an undergraduate degree.
  2. Have been admitted to a master’s degree program with a focus on public health.
  3. Have an approved research topic emphasizing digital health innovations.
  4. Applicants with Institutional Review Board (IRB) approval or proof of submission will have a competitive advantage. 
  5. Candidates affiliated with Mbarara University of Science and Technology or the Busoga Health Forum are particularly encouraged to apply.
