About the Grant

The Global Health Film Grant supports experienced filmmakers to create a short documentary (under 25 minutes) spotlighting underreported health stories from the global south. Focused on solution-oriented and investigative storytelling, the grant is ideal for projects tackling systemic barriers, emerging health threats, or promising research.

Offered in collaboration with One World Media, the Pulitzer Centre, and the Financial Times, the selected filmmaker will receive up to £20,000, mentorship, and executive production support, with the final film featured on FT platforms and promoted globally. The film must be completed by June 2026

What Stories

  • creative, newsworthy proposals that spotlight underreported global health stories across a range of topics — from health inequalities and barriers to basic healthcare, to food insecurity and its far-reaching consequences. 
  • stories that examine systemic failures in mental health treatment, explore scientific advances with the potential to prevent disease, reduce maternal mortality, or prepare for future outbreaks, epidemics, and pandemics — particularly in overlooked or underrepresented contexts.

To explore evidence-based advancements in health informatics, focusing on how digital technologies can transform healthcare delivery in Africa.

Who Can Apply

  •  storytellers from the global south and working in the global south.

  • Up to £20k funding for their film

  • Global promotion of the film by all three partners and associated screenings
