About

Routed Magazine and iDiaspora invite submissions for a special publication themed “Diasporas Driving Impact—Concrete Contributions to Humanitarian, Peace, and Development Goals in Health and Wellbeing, Climate Action, and Women and Youth Empowerment”. It will be published in September 2025, serving as a platform to amplify diaspora voices and contribute to the Global Diaspora Policy Alliance (GDPA) best practices.

Who Can Apply

• Diaspora members, migrant leaders, youth-led organizations, researchers, government offices, start-ups, and diaspora-based businesses or practitioners
• Contributors from all world regions
• Writers able to submit in English with content accessible to both expert and general audiences
• Those who can reflect on their personal or professional relationship to migration and mobility

Requirements

Articles (700–1000 words) that:

• Highlight diaspora-led actions in health, climate, and empowerment
• Offer innovative and measurable solutions, practices, or partnerships
• Explore transnational impact, technology use, and collaboration
• Can include lived experiences, program analysis, or strategic insights
• Address themes such as:
  • Health and Wellbeing: diaspora initiatives in mental health, healthcare access, crisis response, knowledge exchange
  • Climate Action: sustainable practices, disaster response, youth/women in climate leadership
  • Empowering Women and Youth: gender equity, youth innovation, inclusion, intergenerational leadership

Publication Details

• Articles will be translated into Spanish
• Submissions will undergo editorial review, feedback, and final editing
• Writers may request anonymity due to sensitive content
• Opinions expressed will be attributed to the authors only
• Final publication scheduled for late September 2025

How to Submit

• Submit a 250-word abstract outlining your idea via the online form (https://www.idiaspora.org/en/projects/call-submissions-diasporas-driving-impact-concrete-contributions-health-and-wellbeing )
• If accepted, you’ll be invited to submit a first draft by August 8, 2025, and a final draft by September 5, 2025
